Department of Commerce

Commerce department is commenced and working with establishment of college in 1994, firstly affiliated to Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar University, Aurangabad. From 1995 affiliated to Swami Ramanand Teerth University, Nanded. Commerce education includes all sectors of human being i.e. trading, insurance, banking, Taxation, Economics, transportation hotel management, tourism and human Resource Development etc. so that Commerce education is most important in human life.

In each academic year as per work-load of department Temporary CHB staff appointed by college. Dr Jadhav A. P.  Head of Department, appointed from 1998 and Asstt.Prof. D.U. Pawade appointed from April-2017.

Commerce Department has trying to provide business education with Personality development of students i.e. Yoga Camp, Carrier Guidance programmes, class seminar, industrial tour, guest lecturer prescribed syllabus by SRTM University, Nanded.

Status of Result:

                Departmental status of result of B. Com. T.Y. from last four years is 2018-2019-62.85 %,      2019-2020-87.00 % and 2020-2021-90.90%

Course offered by the Department:

                B.Com F. y. (120 Intake capacity), B.Com S. y. (120 Intake capacity), & B.Com T. y. (120 Intake capacity), are the part of the course and all subjects are compulsory to students.

SWOC of commerce department is as follows:

Strength:

  • Motivate to Rural and Economical backward student.
  • Personal contact to every student.

Weakness:

  • Department has not recognized research centre.
  • Lack of industrial environment atmosphere.
  • G. Courses are not available in college.

Opportunities:

  • The department has opportunity to run the short term courses i.e. Auditing and Accounting, Communication Skills, Computerized Courses etc.
  • Department has opportunity to collaborate with other Research center and Industry for the objective of research and future employment views.
  • To start P.G. Courses.

Challenges:

  • To attract the students to commerce faculty.
  • To create employability in the region.
  • Language competency.
  • Majority of students taking admissions are from rural and economically backward students.
  • University frequently changes the examination pattern which threats the result of first year and second year.

Future Plan:

  • To enrich departmental library.
  • To arrange guest lecturers of eminent personalities.
  • To make awareness about commerce education among students.
  • To turn at social commitment through to organize the other activities and Research in the rural Area.
  • To commence the Bridge Courses though commerce department. Like Auditing and Accounting, Communication Skills, Computerized Courses etc.
  • To arrange conference, seminars and workshops.
