Narayanrao Waghmare Mahavidyalaya is established in the year 1994 with the vision ‘Evolving a sensible and responsible society.’ Its mission is ‘Providing access of higher education to socially and educationally deprived section of rural society.’ The college is run by Chatrapati Shahu Shikshan Sanstha Akhada Balapur, Tq. Kalamnuri Dist. Hingoli. A socially committed highly-educated, visionary and philanthropic personality Hon. Dr. Krishnarao Kondbarao Bhise Patil is the president of the Shikshan Sanstha. He is a son of freedom fighter Late Kondbaraoji Bhise Patil. He thought to do something for the development of this rural, tribal and educationally backward region. Because of this, he founded a college named Narayanrao Waghmare Mahavidyalaya on 22 September1994. Narayanrao Waghmare was a versatile, visionary person in this region. He was an educationist, agriculturist, social worker and also Member of Parliament (1952). To commemorate him and his valuable services to the society at large, the education society gave his name to the Mahavidyalaya. This institute was affiliated to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad at the beginning and later got affiliated to Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University, Nanded. College offers three UG courses namely Bachelor of Arts, Commerce and Science. And through mode of Distance Education the college offers preparatory, one UG course. The colleges maintain the academic standard and quality in offering higher education to rural and tribal area and meet the challenges that confront the system.

The college was affiliated to Marathwada University Aurangabad at beginning and later got affiliation to Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University Nanded. The Chatrapati Shahu Shikshan Sanstha maintains the educational progress and quality in offering Academic, agricultural and Technical higher education to Lerner of the rural and tribal.
